Side Door Law

Side Door Law is a virtual legal practice built around one idea: that good legal help should not be out of reach.

We serve clients across British Columbia and Ontario with clear, flat fee services in family law, immigration, and six other practice areas, so people know the cost before the work begins.

Our model

Revenue from our corporate and flat fee work helps fund sliding scale and pro bono services. Every paying client helps keep the door open for someone who could not otherwise afford a lawyer. The name says it plainly: when the front door is closed, we are the side door.

A training ground for access to justice

Side Door Law hosts volunteer placements for licensed lawyers, internationally trained lawyers on the NCA path, and law students. Volunteers work on real files with real clients, always with supervision and mentorship, inside a community that genuinely cares about access to justice.
